College career

As a freshman, Wigginton was one of the best players for Iowa State, averaging 16.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. However, he struggled with turnover problems, losing possession 92 times on the year. After the season, Wigginton declared himself eligible for the 2018 NBA Draft but did not hire an agent and ultimately returned to school. In his sophomore season, he averaged 13.4 points, four rebounds and 2.1 assists in 26 minutes per game and was named the
